Teaching Mathematics to Gifted Students - Mathematics Teaching at BİLSEM

Dr. Ufuk Metin, who works as a primary school mathematics teacher at Kadıköy BİLSEM and is also our graduate, will share his experiences with our students on November 3, 2022, within the scope of Oğuz KÖKLÜ's elective Mathematics Teaching to Gifted Students course offered for 3rd grade students of Primary Mathematics Teaching. We hope that it will be an enjoyable and informative event about learning mathematics with gifted students.

Mathematics Everywhere Activity

Dr. Lecturer A World Mathematics Day event was organized for Primary Mathematics Teaching students under the supervision of member Özlem Çeziktürk. Within the scope of the activity, the game includes mathematics, perspective, platonic solids and 3D mathematical objects through origami, illusions, mathematics in music, mathematical analysis in understanding the patterns in Islamic works, possible mathematical concepts contained in the Cyrano de Bergerac Nose tirade, making the most effective airplane or helicopter with origami, historical wasan geometry. Today's interesting connections of mathematics are included under topics such as systematic and multi-solution problem examples, aphorisms, geometric calculation of the place of the painter in painting, mathematical infrastructure of scanning engines, painting with the golden ratio.

Bostancı Hakkı Değer Secondary School students examined the stations created under the leadership of mathematics teachers Alev Akdağ and Serdar Yılmaz.

Primary Mathematics Program students Fevzi Coşkun, Yakup Çiçek, Ebubekir Kılıç, Mustafa Enes Kıtiş, Onur Şahin, Sıla Esen, Enes Kaplan and Cumali Erlale took part in the preparation of the event.

Graduation ceremony

The 2019 Atatürk Faculty of Education graduation ceremony started with a cortege march of faculty members and students. After the moment of silence and the National Anthem, a musical concert was held by the Atatürk Education Faculty Folk Music Community. Then, the Dean of Atatürk Faculty of Education and our Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şükrü Özdemir was invited to the podium to make his speech. In his speech, he congratulated the 2019 graduates and their families and expressed his good wishes. Following the Dean's speech, certificates of achievement, plaques and gifts were presented to the students who achieved success throughout the faculty and in the department specifically. After the award ceremony, students were given graduation certificates; The oath ceremony was held. The ceremony ended with the cap throwing ceremony.

International Congress of Mathematics and Music in Interdisciplinary Approach

Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şükrü Özdemir and Assoc. Dr. "International Mathematics and Music Congress in Interdisciplinary Approach" organized by Tülün Malkoç as co-chairman, was held on 21-22 June with Dr. It was held in İbrahim Üzümcü Conference Hall. The event, which was the first congress organized within the framework of this subject, hosted many faculty members, researchers, music and mathematics teachers, students of our school and art lovers from universities at home and abroad.

Technology in Mathematics Teaching

Tonguç ÖZDAŞ, a graduate of Marmara University Mathematics Teaching Department and working as a mathematics teacher at Enka Schools, organized a technology workshop for senior mathematics teaching students on Wednesday, May 2. In the workshop, an activity was carried out using graphing calculators used in mathematics teaching. Additionally, our teacher shared his teaching experiences with us.

Mathematics Teacher Şule AÇIKEL at Hayrullah Kefoğlu Anatolian High School, one of our internship school practices, is registered to STEM Discovery Week between 22-26 April at the OREL ceremonies. Within the scope of the Zeynep CAN, Semra KAPLAN and Melih Güler event organized for senior grades, workshops called MATHEMATICS WITH WHEELS and I AM BUILDING MY OWN BRIDGE will be held on Friday, April 26th. Assoc. Prof. of Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Primary Mathematics Teaching. Dr. Prof. Sare Şengül attended the seminar where special education courses were given for the purpose of educating specially educated children and training highly empathetic treatments that are important for these children and their families. Dr. Mim Kemal Öke attended. Assoc. Dr. Sare Şengül stated that the special education courses in question were given to the teacher candidates by taking into consideration issues such as "What is special education? Who are the children in special education and what are their characteristics?", What are our responsibilities as teachers and individuals towards their families with these capabilities? Stating that the seminars were aimed for, he said: "In achieving this goal, the most important thing that should be done in the education of teacher candidates is that families with special purpose groups have first-hand access to people with the problems they experience and what is expected from people. For this purpose, Prof., who regularly has a game for girls with down syndrome in the primary school mathematics teaching program and the seminar program called "WE ARE DIFFERENT - WE ARE AWARE". Dr. Mim Kemal Öke was invited as a guest. He attended our seminar and shared with us the problems he experienced in accepting the game after his daughter Nazlı Hilal was born as a child with Down syndrome, at the age of 34, Turkey's youngest, when he was conducting academic research and there were expectations from him that he would be the prime minister in the future.

For the 2017-2018 Academic Year Primary Mathematics Teaching and Mathematics Teaching graduation ceremony, our Dean and Department Head Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ş. Özdemir, faculty members of the Department, faculty members and parents of the departments, together with great enthusiasm. Program departments Assoc. Our teacher Sare Şengül gave an emotional speech representing the Department. Then, Alumni Office Coordinator Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bülent Yılmaz and later our Dean and Head of Department Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ş. Özdemir made a speech. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ş. Our teacher Özdemir gave short and concise advice to graduates and those who can step into the teaching profession about education in Turkey, the role of the comprehensive teacher and how to be successful under all these conditions. Our teacher to our graduates; He concluded his speech by showing that you should be a teacher who teaches, a teacher who is a student, and a teacher who sets an example (or is taken as an example). He concluded his speech by showing that you should be an example to your colleagues as the most hard-working, most loved and honest instructors in the institution where you work/work. The program continued with songs, poems and performances of the graduates and speeches of the program winners. Three students who completed the program with honors were also given watches by the deanery of Atatürk Faculty of Education. The graduation program ended with our graduates throwing their caps.

2017/2018 ACADEMIC YEAR Faculty-department-division introduction and student-faculty staff introduction meeting for 1st graders will be held on Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 20, at 12:30 in Lecture Hall 4.

At the introductory meeting, the students who were successful in the Primary Mathematics Teaching program were informed about the program in which they will study and about the instructors. Especially the Head of the Department, Assoc. Dr. Ahmet Ş. With the short and original speeches of the teaching staff in the program, including ÖZDEMİR, our new students had the opportunity to get to know the professors and assistants from whom they will take lessons in the future.
